The most famous ones are the Ġgantija Temples, which date back to around 3600- 3200 BC and are located in the town of Xaghra. These temples are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and are a must-see for history buffs.

In addition to the beaches and temples, there are many other attractions to explore on Gozo. One of the most popular is Ta’ Dbieġi Crafts Village, where you can see local artisans at work and purchase handmade souvenirs. The Ċittadella in Victoria is another must-see, a walled city with stunning views over the island. Other attractions include the Azure Window, a natural rock arch that collapsed in 2017 but still remains a popular spot for photography, and the Ta’ Pinu Shrine, a beautiful basilica that is a pilgrimage site for Catholics.
Activities
Gozo is a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Diving is particularly popular, with clear waters and a variety of marine life to discover. Water sports such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and windsurfing are also available. For those who prefer to stay on land, there are plenty of hiking trails and cycling routes to explore. Day trips to the nearby island of Comino are also a popular activity, where you can visit the famous Blue Lagoon and enjoy swimming and snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters.
Local Cuisine
Gozo has a rich culinary scene with many delicious dishes to try. Some popular local specialties include:
- Ftira: A type of flatbread topped with local ingredients such as tomatoes, olives, and cheese.
- Ġbejniet: Small round cheeselets made from sheep’s or goat’s milk.
